SUMMARY

the "owning it" zine serves as a platform for women of all backgrounds to come forward and respond to the hate they have received throughout life. each spread features a new individual who identifies one feature that represents their greatest source of insecurity. the spread contains images, quotes, music, etc. that the individual found helpful during times of self doubt. the zine is intended to not only serve as a healing platform for the women featured, but as a resource for anyone experiencing similar pain. all photographs, graphics and drawings were completed by either myself or those featured. in this regard, the zine serves as an intensely personal and vulnerable publication intended for the general public to view and respond to.
